From Awajishima Island, Japan, Rasheenkan is working to help secure the future of the Nissan Rasheen.
At Rasheenkan, restoring Nissan Rasheens is only part of our mission.
We also think about what owners will need five, ten, or even twenty years from now. For a modern classic, long-term parts support is just as important as the quality of the restoration itself.
Today, we would like to share one of the challenges we are working to solve.
A Genuine Nissan Oil Seal Is No Longer in Production
The genuine Nissan oil seal shown in these photographs carries the following part number:
C3142-10R01
Production of this part has ended, and supply through normal Nissan channels has become increasingly difficult.
An oil seal may be a relatively small component, but it plays an important role in keeping oil where it belongs and protecting surrounding mechanical components.
When a small but essential part becomes unavailable, even a straightforward repair becomes more difficult. For owners of classic vehicles, the phrase “no longer available” can eventually mean a vehicle can no longer be repaired properly.
At Rasheenkan, we do not want the story to end there.
Exploring the Reproduction of This Discontinued Part
We have identified a specialized manufacturer in Japan and have begun discussions about the feasibility of reproducing this oil seal.
The project is currently in the consultation and evaluation stage. No reproduced parts are available for sale at this time.
Before any replacement part can be offered, important details must be carefully examined, including dimensions, materials, sealing structure, fitment, and durability.
Should the project move forward, prototypes will need to be inspected and tested before we can determine whether the part meets the standard we require for use on our customers’ vehicles.
Our goal is not simply to create a part that looks similar to the original.
It is to develop a dependable replacement that Rasheen owners can use with confidence.
Parts Support Is Part of Proper Restoration
The Nissan Rasheen was produced in the 1990s, and every surviving example is now becoming part of Japan’s modern classic-car history.
As more Rasheens find owners outside Japan, including customers in the United States, dependable maintenance support becomes increasingly important.
A beautifully restored vehicle has lasting value only if it can also be maintained properly after delivery.
That is why Rasheenkan continues to focus not only on vehicle sales and custom builds, but also on repairs, technical knowledge, replacement parts, and long-term ownership support.
The photographs in this article were taken during service in our workshop and show the genuine Nissan oil seal and the area where it is installed.
These are the everyday challenges that come with preserving a classic vehicle—and the challenges we are committed to solving.
From Awajishima to Rasheen Owners Around the World
Rasheenkan is a specialty shop dedicated to the Nissan Rasheen, based on Awajishima Island in Hyogo, Japan.
Our knowledge comes from years of inspecting, repairing, restoring, and building Nissan Rasheens in our own workshop.
When an original part is discontinued, we do not simply accept that the vehicle has reached the end of the road. We look for practical solutions, work with trusted specialists, and consider what will be needed to support Rasheen owners in the years ahead.
This oil seal reproduction project is one step in that ongoing effort.
We will continue to share updates as the project develops.
Keeping the Nissan Rasheen alive—one vehicle, one repair, and one part at a time.
