Nissan Rasheen Engine Service for a Customer in Kagoshima, Japan

Nissan Rasheen Engine Service for a Customer in Kagoshima, Japan

At Rasheenkan, our work goes far beyond refreshing a vehicle’s appearance.

A flawless paint job and a custom interior matter, but solid mechanical health is what lets an owner drive with complete peace of mind. This is especially critical for the Nissan Rasheen, as every example is now well over a quarter-century old.

In this build update, we are highlighting an engine overhaul for a customer based in Kagoshima Prefecture, southern Japan.

Preparing the Rasheen for Engine Removal

Before pulling the engine, we thoroughly inspected the bay and disconnected all supporting systems.

Working on vintage machinery requires patience. Aged vacuum hoses, wiring harnesses, plastic connectors, and brackets must be handled with extreme care, as many factory OEM replacements are now discontinued or rare.

We never rush teardown.

Removing the Powertrain Assembly

To service everything properly, the complete engine and transmission assembly was dropped from the chassis.

Powertrain extracted: Freeing up the engine for a comprehensive, bench-level mechanical service.

Pulling the powertrain gives our technicians unobstructed access to the engine, seals, and auxiliary components. It also allows us to inspect subframe mounts, hard lines, and bulkhead areas that are nearly impossible to check inside a cramped engine bay.

Teardown is not just about unbolting parts. Every wire, hose, and bracket is labeled and organized to ensure seamless reassembly once machining and overhaul work are complete.

Careful Maintenance for a Classic Nissan

The Nissan Rasheen has a unique boxy aesthetic and tactile personality that modern crossovers simply cannot replicate. However, preserving them takes more than cosmetic restoration.

Every component is labeled, refreshed, and prepared for seamless reassembly to factory-fresh reliability.

Dedicated mechanical overhauls are what keep these vehicles running strong for decades to come. Because each chassis has aged differently, we tailor our service scope strictly to what the individual car needs.

This Kagoshima build is right in the middle of that restoration phase. We will keep documenting our progress as assembly gets underway.

More Than a Custom Car

At Rasheenkan, our goal isn't just to create a stylish vehicle.

We build each vehicle to reflect both the passion of its owner and the uncompromising craftsmanship of our workshop. That is why we place equal weight on exterior styling, interior detail, and under-the-hood mechanical reliability.

Whether the vehicle stays in Japan or heads overseas, thorough mechanical groundwork ensures dependable driving anywhere in the world.

We look forward to seeing this freshly serviced blue Rasheen back on the road.
