A Real Nissan Rasheen Build in Japan: Inside the Rasheenkan Workshop

At Rasheenkan Japan, every Nissan Rasheen we build begins with real work in the workshop.

This is not a computer rendering, not an ordinary used-car listing, and not a quick cosmetic makeover. This is an actual Nissan Rasheen currently being built for a customer in Japan.

For overseas visitors who are discovering the Nissan Rasheen for the first time, we want to show what happens behind the scenes in our workshop. The Rasheen is a unique Japanese retro SUV with a style that feels different from modern cars. Its boxy body, compact size, and classic character make it especially appealing to people who appreciate JDM culture, vintage SUVs, and handcrafted custom builds.

But the final look is only one part of the story.

Before a Rasheen reaches its refined final form, it goes through careful disassembly, inspection, preparation, paint work, and reassembly. That process is what makes each build special.

Built in Japan, One Step at a Time

This customer’s Rasheen started as a red body. Before the new finish could be applied, many exterior parts were removed from the vehicle.

The doors, rear gate area, lights, trim pieces, front components, and body panels were carefully taken apart so the work could be done properly. This stage is important because a quality build cannot be done only from the outside.

A proper restoration and custom build requires access to the hidden areas as well.

Around the rear body, tail light sections, door openings, wheel arches, and inner panels, every detail matters. These are the areas that reveal the difference between a quick paint job and a carefully prepared build.

From Original Red to a Fresh Custom Color

After preparation, the Rasheen begins to change completely.

The fresh beige color gives the vehicle a softer, more classic appearance while still keeping the original Rasheen shape and personality. This type of color works especially well with the Rasheen’s retro design because it feels natural, calm, and timeless.

The goal is not to make the car look like every modern SUV.

The goal is to respect the Rasheen’s original character and bring out its charm in a new way.

At Rasheenkan, we often think of the Rasheen as more than transportation. It is a lifestyle vehicle. It is for people who enjoy design, simplicity, outdoor culture, and something different from mass-produced modern cars.

Why Disassembly Matters

Many people only see the finished car.

But for us, the most important part is the work behind the finished result.

When the lights, trim, doors, bumpers, and surrounding components are removed, we are able to assess the condition of the body more thoroughly, prepare the surfaces more properly, and refinish areas that would otherwise remain hidden. It also allows for cleaner, more precise reassembly once the work is complete.

This is especially important with older Japanese vehicles.

The Nissan Rasheen has great character, but it is also now a classic vehicle, and each build needs to be approached with patience and care. No two cars are exactly alike. Their condition, history, and restoration needs can vary significantly, which is why we do not follow the same process for every Rasheen.

Each vehicle has its own story.

Each build deserves its own approach.

A Real Specialty Shop, Not Just a Sales Page

For overseas customers, trust matters.

We understand that buying or ordering a vehicle from Japan can feel distant. That is why we make a point of showing real workshop photos, real customer builds, and the actual process behind our vehicles.

Rasheenkan is a Nissan Rasheen specialty shop based in Japan. We work with Rasheens on a regular basis, from maintenance and restoration to custom paint, interior work, face conversions, and complete build preparation.

Our work is not simply about making a vehicle look good in photos.

It is about creating a Rasheen that feels special and personal, and is built with care.

The Beauty of the Nissan Rasheen

The Nissan Rasheen holds a distinctive place in Japanese car culture.

It is compact, simple, and full of character. Its shape has a retro feel, yet it remains practical enough to enjoy as a daily vehicle or a weekend adventure car. For many overseas JDM enthusiasts, the Rasheen offers something refreshingly different from the usual sports cars and large 4x4s.

It is not aggressive.

It is not oversized.

Instead, it has a friendly, nostalgic design that makes a lasting impression.

That is why we believe the Rasheen deserves to be appreciated by more people around the world.

Handcrafted Neo Classic SUV from Japan

At Rasheenkan, we think of our builds as handcrafted neo-classic SUVs from Japan.

The Nissan Rasheen already has a strong identity. Our role is to bring that identity forward through color, detail, restoration, parts selection, and careful finishing.

Some customers prefer a clean, original-style restoration. Others want a more custom look with a new face, distinctive paint, or a handcrafted interior. Every project is different, but the purpose remains the same:

To build a Rasheen with real character.

Not mass-produced.
Not rushed.
Not ordinary.

Just honest craftsmanship from our workshop in Japan.

Current Build Status

This Rasheen in thees photos is still in progress.

The body has been disassembled, carefully prepared and repainted. The next stage will involve reassembly, inspecting the exterior components, refitting the lights and trim, and continuing the build step by step as the vehicle comes back together.

For us, this is an especially rewarding stage, as the character of the vehicle is beginning to emerge.

The original red body has now been transformed into a calm custom color, and the finer details will soon begin to bring the finished look into focus.

We will continue to share the progress of this build as it moves forward in the Rasheenkan workshop.

From Japan to the World

Rasheenkan Japan is a specialty workshop dedicated to Nissan Rasheen restoration, customization, and carefully prepared builds.

Through our builds, we hope to introduce this special vehicle to more people around the world.
